All mala necklaces that you buy for whatever purpose need to be taken care of and stored and used with utmost care. When you coil it too tightly or put it in your pants or jacket pockets you can easily strain the wire cording used to hold the beads together. You know too well that all things that are made of metal can easily break if they are bent too had. Many times the cording for mala necklaces when they get kinked bent or when they are worn through contact with the beads. Most semi-precious stones come with sharpened edges and can easily break when they get squeezed by the cording.

Mala necklaces, mala bracelets and mala beads should always be kept in a safe place, preferably a mala bag; all care must be taken to avoid crumple crushing them by putting them in pants pockets since this easily damages and breaks them prematurely. Anyone who buys mala beads should use them for the purpose of attracting greater happiness, loving kindness, joy and serenity in the world around them; any time you do this it will fill your life with deep blessings.

The wire or cording that is used to string mala beads together will finally break form long time use. While this is a natural process, it creates good karma because it is associated with being a positive expression of the natural law of cause and effect. The more a person uses their mala necklace for prayer and meditation, the sooner it is likely to wear out. However, every use of mala must ensure that they use it with a lot of care and treat it well. If and when it finally breaks, it should be a constant reminder of what Lord Buddha taught about the impermanence of all things that makes them subject to decay, dissolution and change.

You must always avoid wearing your mala beads while taking a bath while at the same time you must avoid getting it wet; this is because it eventually weakens the cording that strings the mala together. Always ensure that you remove your mala beads before you retire every night while you are going to sleep; any stress that is exerted on mala necklace cording will cause it to break. There is also the potentiality or negative or turbulent mental and emotional activity when you are asleep that can affect the malaís accumulated magnetism.

Avoid passing your mala beads around to other people when you are around them and especially those who arenít spiritual practitioners; this can cause your mala to lose the accumulated magnetism that you had accumulated through prayer and meditation. Also keep you mala beads off the ground just like you do with all objects and instruments of spiritual practice.
