Turkey is full of beautiful, tranquil beaches. Regardless of where it is in the country you’re visiting, you’ll never be too far from a charming spot of natural beauty – this is why Turkey is the perfect destination for couples on relaxing holidays. Here are a few top spots you shouldn’t miss.

After getting to Dalaman, a great place to start your laid-back getaway is Phaselis. Situated around an hour’s drive from Antalya, the ruins of Phaselis are quite simply breathtaking. The city itself can be traced back to around the seventh century BC, though most of the ruins that can be seen today are Roman.

There are three beaches to choose from in this area, all of which boast beautiful surroundings and a unique character. If you prefer a long, sandy beach, then head to the most western shoreline. Walk along the eastern beach if you prefer a pebbly feel underfoot.

This is one of the longest and most highly-regarded beaches in all the Mediterranean. Situated just a few miles away from the resort of Kalkan, Patara is a great spot for some peaceful relaxation, with the beach still offering deserted areas even at the busiest times.

The next area to explore after getting to Dalaman is Mermerli. This is a beach located near the centre of Antalya that offers a haven of relaxation far enough away from the city’s bustling streets. You’ll find Mermerli hidden away at the base of the cliffs to the south of what used to be the harbour – but be aware that it gets extremely busy during the peak summer months of July and August.

A three-mile stretch of gorgeous fine sand, Iztuzu is hugely popular with holidaymakers staying in the beautiful resort of Dalyan. Regarded as one of the best beaches in the country, Iztuzu is most easily reached by boat from Dalyan, with a return ticket costing around £3. The boat journey will give you the chance to take in what is one of the world’s most stunning coastlines.

Getting to Dalaman

Flights are available from all over the UK to Dalaman airport. Once you’ve landed, the best way to reach your accommodation is to take a pre-booked private shuttle transfer. This is the most convenient and cost-effective way to travel.

You’ll be welcomed at the airport by a friendly and professional driver, who will take you straight to your accommodation. Booking this airport transfer well in advance of your departure date will mean that you can rest easy knowing that all your travel arrangements are taken care of and that you’re getting the best value out of your journey. Getting to Dalaman has never been so easy!

Wherever you are in Turkey, you’ll never be far from one of the country’s stunning areas of natural beauty. From Phaselis to Iztuzu, Turkey is home to some of the world’s finest beaches – ideal for a relaxing escape!
